Penang - The Perfect Holiday Destination

Penang – Malaysia’s smallest state – is one of the country’s best known holiday destinations. Nicknamed the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, it boasts a melting pot of Chinese, Indian, Malay and sundry influences and is famous for its soft sandy beaches as well as antiquated colonial architecture. Fondly acknowledged as Malaysia’s food capital, the island is Malaysia’s only Chinese-dominated state. Georgetown – Penang’s capital – is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site; rich in history the island is home to celebrated sites ranging from temples like the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple to historic buildings like the Porta de Santiago.
